reference venues, and where every fact in these docs came from
Reference venues
The sites worth looking at before decisions get made, and what each one does well.
| Venue | Why it's here |
|---|---|
| Ecotrust Events | The reference MOWP brought to this project. A nonprofit renting Portland event space on a mission-aligned pitch, across several named spaces. Strong photography, clear per-space structure, no published pricing, and bookings run by a person rather than software |
| The Diner | MOWP's own small site, and the reason Squarespace came up. Useful as a scale reference: this project is closer to that size than to mowp.org |
| Meals on Wheels People | The organization, and where the venue site's mission link points |
Ecotrust is the closest comparison and worth studying in detail. Two things it does that this site should copy: a page per venue with capacity and amenities in one place, and a mission argument stated plainly rather than implied. One thing it does that this site shouldn't: hiding price behind an inquiry. See Rates & Availability.
